Hi, My name is Hattie and I am 23 years old. I live in the UK and run a small business called Purpledayss to try and help raise money and spread awareness for the Epilepsy community. I was diagnosed with Generalized Epilepsy when I was 16 and it effected my mental health massively.
When coronavirus hit the UK in 2019 and we went into lockdown, I started creating some videos relating to my epilepsy and one day I noticed that a lot of people wanted information and were asking a lot of questions. I enjoyed answering their questions and helping people with my friendly advice from past experiences. (I am not a professional). Some of my videos started to go viral and people were interested in my stories. This is when I thought it would be a good idea to start talking about my journey with epilepsy and spreading awareness for it. Things started to grow via all my social medias and I decided that It would be a good idea to create this safe space for all people with epilepsy which I wish I would of had.
My goals for this small business are to raise money and spread awareness wherever and whenever I can. As the numbers on my followers kept going up I was being contacted by more companies and brands that wanted to hear more about my story. I want Purpledayss to simply help people so that no one will ever feel the way I felt at 14. I want everyone with Epilepsy to feel accepted and to be proud of who they are. We are all warriors and the Epilepsy community deserves to be heard more!
